Description
Trillium Grandiflorum. Fully hardy. Perennial. These are plants of the open woodland, so filtered shade is needed, rather than full shade. They need humus rich soil that is well-drained but not to dry, peat moss added during planting will give them a boost. A marvellous plant to grace the shady areas of your garden. Over several years will produce a lovely carpet of colour during late spring.

Planting Guide
Plant: March, 7-8 cm deep. Spacing 30cm. Flowers April-May. Height 30-35cm.
Fully hardy. Perennial. The rhizomes will not flower in the first year. It is best to start in pots first, using a humus rich soil, and placing the pots up against the shady area of house or against a wall. Once rooted plant out; filtered shade is needed rather than full shade, trilliums grow naturally in open woodland.
Propagation: Divide overcrowded clumps in autumn.
