Description
Sandersonia (Chinese-lantern) Half hardy. Perennial. Grow in a sheltered, sunny site with well-drained soil. As its name suggest, the flowers have a very unusual urn-like shape, and form at the tips of slender, bow-shaped stems. Native habitat: South Africa.

Planting Guide
Plant: April, with at 5 cm of soil on top of the bulb. Spacing 30cm. Flowers July-September. Height 60cm.
Half hardy. Perennial. Needs full sun along with well-drained fertile soil. For first year grow in a pot or planter which is twice the depth of the bulb. Use a fresh compost with sharp sand. The bulb holds one to two prongs which need to be facing downwards or at a slight angle, cover the top of the bulb with 5 cm of soil.
Propagation: Divide tubers in spring.
