Description
Arisaema Tortuosum. Fully to half hardy perennial. Being a woodland plant, needs a damp, humus soil and part sun. Produces large, striped, hooded spathes on dark green mottled stems. Perfect in borders or woodland garden, Also good for growing in pots. Native habitat – China, Japan, eastern Himalayas and South America.

Planting Guide
Plant: Late March-April. 10 cm deep. Spacing 15 cm. Flowers May-June. Height 20-30 cm.
Fully Hardy, Perennial. It is always best to start these bulbs in pots either in a greenhouse or a sheltered dry area in the garden. The rounded side of the bulb is the bottom, the roots come from the top. Use a John Innes No. 1 or 2 compost. It is best not to water after planting until the bulb has rooted. Once in growth you can plant out. A dappled shaded area of the garden is needed. Provided you have well-drained soil these bulbs will reappear every year for years to come, mulch over in the winter to protect from frost.
Propagation: By removing offsets in spring or summer.
