Allium Atropurpureum is beautiful, the strong dark purple will add impact to your garden, the flowering time is from June – July slightly later than the other border alliums. Hardy. Perennial. Needs well-drained, fertile soil. Full sun or half shade. Feed with a slow release fertilizer. Ideal for borders, if growing in containers, make sure the bulbs have plenty of root space and feed with a slow release liquid feed, Growmore is ideal.
Propagate by lifting the bulbs in late July, divide the bulbs, store in a cool dark place and replant in the autumn.
