Planting Guide
Plant: March with 1-2 cm of soil on top of the root. Spacing 6cm. Flowers July-September. Height 150 cm.
Frost tender. Perennial. Well-drained soil is needed. Start these rhizomes in a pot in the greenhouse or conservatory. Use a good multipurpose compost, add some bone-meal around the edge of the pot and water in. Once in growth you can plant out into the garden, they prefer a part shaded environment that offers morning or afternoon sun. Add some bone-meal to the soil when planting out, avoiding contact with the rhizome. During winter cover the crown with a mulch to protect from frost.
Propagation: Divide overcrowded clumps in spring.
