Description
Fritillaria Meleagris (snakes head). Frost hardy. Perennial. Needs well-drained soil, but, soil that does not dry out. A sunny position is needed. They can be naturalised in the grass, borders or the rockery. Beautiful chequered bells hang down on slender stems at a height of 15-20 cm during the months of April and May. This plant grows naturally in damp meadows in Southern England.

Planting Guide
Plant: September-November. 8 cm deep. Spacing 15 cm. Flowers late April -May. Height 15-20 cm.
Hardy. Perennial. Needs sun or light shade, with well-drained humus rich soil. Ideal for planting in grassland, under trees, borders or in pots . Start these bulbs in pots, once rooted and growing if preferred, can be planted out into the garden.
Propagate: By dividing overcrowded clumps in summer every 3 to 4 years and replant.
