Eremurus Ruiter Hybrid Mix
£14.50 – £26.50
Description
Eremurus Ruiter Hybrid Mix, (foxtail lily). Fully hardy. Perennial. Full sun, well-drained soil. Ideal for the herbaceous border or as centrepieces in beds of their own. The light green foliage appears in April, the buds appear during early May, then it all starts to happen. By June you have these amazing tall stems that are made up of hundreds of star-shaped flowers close to an inch in diameter. This plant is not difficult to grow. All the eremurus really needs is good drainage. Other bulbs that you can plant with Eremurus are the Giant Alliums, they flower at the same time, complementing each other very nicely.
Top Size Tubers Supplied.

Planting Guide
Plant: September-November, with the tip of the crown just below the surface; about 8 cm of compost on top. Flowers June- July. Height 125 cm.
Hardy Perennial. Needs full sun with well-drained soil, if soil is heavy mix in some sharp sand. Plant in a sheltered site to protect from wind, with the protruding centre piece facing upwards. Feed with a slow release fertilizer. If winter is severely cold; cover with a mulch to protect crown. Once the plant starts to grow look out for snails hiding in the early foliage as they can, if allowed, nibble through the stem.
Propagate: Divide overcrowded clumps in autumn.
