Description

Chionodoxa Luciliae Alba, Hardy, Clump forming. Perennial.  Needs well-drained soil in sun or light shade. These bulbs are becoming increasingly popular for spring flowering. The dainty starry shaped blooms appear during early March, and last for about 3 4 weeks.  They only grow to a height of 10-15 cm, which makes them perfect for naturalising in rockeries, or in the grassland as you would with crocus, snowdrops, bluebells and Daffodils.  The bulbs naturally increase each year, you can divide the clumps in May and replant.

Planting Guide

Plant: September-November.   6-8 cm deep.     Spacing of 8 cm.   Flowers February-March.     Height 10-15 cm.

Hardy. Perennial.   Needs well-drained soil in sun or light shade.  They are ideal for front borders or in grassland. Can also be grown in large pots with other bulbs such as miniature yellow narcissi that flower later. Use a slow release fertilizer when growing in pots with a good multipurpose compost that is free draining.

Propagate:  Divide overcrowded mature clumps in late May, replant or dry and store in cool dark place for autumn planting.
