Camassia Sacajawea. Clump forming, Hardy perennial. This plant thrives in wet and heavy soil. but can not withstand heavy water-logging throughout the winter months. They need half a days sun in an area where they can be left undisturbed in grassland or borders, they can also be grown in large containers. Tall spikes of variegated foliage, with starry shaped flowers appear during the months of May, June and July. A marvellous plant for any garden.

Plant: September-November. 10-14 cm deep. Spacing 25 cm. Flowers May-June. Height 80 cm.
Hardy. Perennial. Full sun or partial shade. Thrives in moist heavy humus-rich soil but does not like being waterlogged during the winter months. Ideal for borders or large pots that can provide plenty of root space, no less than a 7 Litre pot. Feed with a slow release fertilizer.
Propagate: When overcrowded, after the plant has died back, lift the bulbs, store in a cool dark place and replant in the autumn.
