Planting Guide
Plant: March-April. 5 cm of soil on top of the rhizome. Spacing 10 cm. Flowers June-August. Height 30 cm.
Hardy. Perennial. These are surprisingly easy to grow and need very little maintenance. The prefer morning sun with partial shade in the afternoon. Perfect for growing shallow terracotta pots but can also be grown in the ground and left to naturalise. Use a good quality compost and feed with a slow release fertilizer. The tubers are very tough, little will kill them off apart from water logging. If in pots they can be left outside in the winter in a sheltered position away from severe frost. When growing in the ground make sure your soil is free-draining and to cover over with a mulch in Winter.
Propagation: Divide tubers when overcrowded.
