Choose bulb type
Erythronium White Beauty (dogtooth-violet). Fully to frost-hardy, clump forming, perennial. The plants prefer a woodland setting so grow in partial shade where the plants can receive a little sun but not full sun, beneath shrubs or trees or in pots on the patio would be ideal. You do need to make sure they are in an area where the soil is free draining, the bulbs do not like sitting in water. The flowers are rather striking with their reflexed petals sweeping back like puppy-dogs ears in the wind only reaching to a height of 20cm during the months of April and May. The foliage which fans out at the base of the plant is also attractive being green with brown speckled markings.
