Eremurus Himalaicus, (foxtail lily). Fully - frost hardy perennial. This magnificent plant needs full sun, well-drained soil, preferably in a sheltered site away from strong wind. Himalaicus grows to a height of 150cm (5ft), which is ideal for the herbaceous border or as centrepieces in beds of their own. The light green foliage appears in April, the buds appear during early May, then it all starts to happen, by June you have these amazing tall stems which are made up of hundreds of star-shaped flowers close to an inch in diameter. This plant is not difficult to grow, all the eremurus really needs is good drainage. Other bulbs that you can plant with the foxtails are the giant Alliums, which flower at the same time complementing each other very nicely. Allium giganteum, globemaster and foxtail lilies put on the perfect show and will most definitely put a smile on any-ones face. The eremurus that we have on offer all flower at different heights if your looking for something taller try the eremurus robustus they are fantastic.
