Cyclamen Cilicium. Frost hardy, clump forming, perennial. These plants need, well-drained humus-rich soil, they also need partial shade. The bulbs not only produce beautiful little butterfly type flowers in the Autumn they also have a marbled effect ivy-like foliage which is good for ground cover. They are perfect for those shady areas of the garden, under trees and shrubs or in the rockery. When they have finished flowering they send out curly corkscrew-like stems with a seedpod on the end, which make their way into the ground, fascinating to see.
